Salary: $117 962 - 153 354 per year

Duties

As a Marketing & Outreach Specialist (Publications Coordinator), you will: - Serve as an expert on writing, editing, graphic standards and techniques, practices, methods, and innovations in print and web communications. Plan, design, and oversee the development of sophisticated communication strategies that articulate and interpret important policies or promote programs and activities of broad interest. - Develop graphics for FHEO print and digital content using the Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphics design tools. - Develop, coordinate, and edit organization content for FHEO's print and digital products. Research facts and analyze data to ensure it is written appropriately for the audience it serves. Works with the E&O Division Director and Team Leads to implement the Department's print and digital policies and procedures. Maintain content so that it is current and accurate; update, revise, or remove the content in a timely manner. - Develop web-based business processes to ensure they comply with Department content policies, design, technical standards; and meet federal requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act, including 508 Compliance.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: -Drafting, designing, and overseeing the creation of publications and content layout AND; -Experience using graphic design software to develop media such as publications, photos, videos, or other multimedia materials. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
