This position is located at US Mint,San Francisco Mint-MANUFACTURING DEPT/Plant Manager CA. As a Safety Support Coordinator, you will serve as the Safety Assistant in the Safety and Occupational Health Division, which is responsible for the San Francisco Mint's Occupational Safety and Health Program. .

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-9. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Safety Support Coordinator, you will: Gather data, update and revise spreadsheets, databases, and manuals, take notes in critical meetings, maintain office files, prepare standard forms, requisition supplies and services as well as perform COTR responsibilities. Serve as the Office Manager for the SOH Division, operating independently, performing a wide variety of clerical, technical and administrative duties, which are specialized to the organization and are in support of the work of the Division. Coordinate all administrative, clerical, and technical issues for consistency of response within and from the division staff. Review existing administrative procedures, and determine whether changes, revisions or updates are needed to insure smooth or more efficient operations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. We must be able to verify this experience in your resume in order for you to receive credit. For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Obtaining information and coordinating a variety of administrative functions including general administrative duties such as: filing, typing, correspondence memos, purchase supplies, answering phones, customer service, Database Tracking, Workers Comp, COTR (Contracting Officers Technical Rep.) Responsibilities AND Performing administrative support in one or more safety/health/environment subject-matter areas. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full academic years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of the education and experience listed above in which my percentage of specialized experience and education totals to 100%. (For example: the completion of 50% requirements for J.D. and 6 months of specialized experience.) In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9 you must have been at the GS-7level for 52 weeks. For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: obtaining information and completing a variety of administrative functions including general administrative duties such as: filing, typing, correspondence memos, purchase supplies, answering phones, customer service OR Performing administrative support in one or more safety/health/environment subject-matter areas. OR One (1) full year of graduate level education or law school; or Superior Academic Achievement based on a bachelor's degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class), grade point average (2.95/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society. OR A combination of the education and experience listed above in which my percentage of specialized experience and education totals to 100%. (For example: the completion of 50% requirements for one full year of graduate level education and 6 months of specialized experience.) In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-7 you must have been at the GS-5level for 52 weeks.

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
