You will serve as a Weight and Handling Equipment Program Specialist in the FRCSE, Jacksonville, FL of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will analyze procedural documentation of waterfront lifting and handling program to confirm proper maintenance, repair, and testing of weight handling systems and associated instrumentation is completed according to guidelines. You will conduct audits or surveillances in accordance with management identified priorities and applicable laws, rules, and procedures. You will coordinate with junior level staff to facilitate client interface, scoping estimates, project development, and preventative maintenance

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Applying knowledge and competence to ensure that equipment is safe to operate, that weight-handling operations are conducted safely and efficiently, and to maintain optimum equipment service life Reviewing, advising, and providing guidance on the full range of Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) safety matters related to cranes and its associated support equipment, including matters related to certification, preventative maintenance, administrative requirements, and safe execution during operations. Identifying risks, trends, unsafe conditions, addressing hazards to employees, and specifying control measures in conformance with applicable standards. Developing and reviewing complex lifts and crane safety plans while working closely with program managers and engineers for the processes which utilize weight handling equipment. Ensuring compliance of training for all weight handling personnel (crane operators, riggers and maintenance personnel) and accessing records for trained personnel to ensure individuals have been properly trained.
