About the Position: This is a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, GS-1035-13 position with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, Public Affairs Office located in Tulsa, OK.
Duties
Serves as the Public Affairs Officer, responsible for the development, execution, and evaluation of the public affairs program for the District.
Provide technical guidance and assistance for the preparation of briefings, articles, speech material and other written, electronic, or oral statements.
Write speeches for members of the command group and key District employees.
Provide communications advice and strategies and develop all-encompassing communication plans on internal and external programs, projects, contracts and personnel matters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one year supervisory probation period may be required for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Writing informational materials such as news releases, fact sheets, brochures, speeches, presentations; AND 2) Developing effective communications with print and broadcast media representatives; AND 3) Developing web and strategic e-communication products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
