About this Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Serve as the senior patrol supervisor with responsibility for all law enforcement patrol operations. Utilize subordinate supervisors and lead employees, oversees and directs work. Coordinate law enforcement support with other local, state, federal and military law enforcement agencies and departments. Receive all requests for police support to special events and develops and implements plans to support such events.

Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain a T3-Secret Clearance.
• Occasional TDY travel required.
• Subject to random urinalysis testing IAW Department of the Army guidelines and under AR 190-56.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime. Must work call back and/or emergency overtime when required.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Designated as mission essential.
• Must wear a prescribed uniform while on duty.
• Must be able to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other associated equipment.
• Pass periodic medical examination (physical, emotional and mental stability, etc.).
• Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56: Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical / psychiatric evaluation. Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 60 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
• Maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Complete initial and annual cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification and first aid training.
• Must meet and maintain all mandatory requirements to include Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW AR 190-56.
• Required to meet proficiency requirements in specialized weapons and unarmed self-defense.
• Be qualified and certified in the use of chemical aerosol irritants, tear gas, and radar gun.
• Position is designated as a Key Position IAW AR 690-8. Position may not be filled by Ready Reservist.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
• Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy or graduate within a one year of hire date, or next available, unless incumbent has an approved waiver/exemption from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
• One year Supervisory probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
