About the Position: This position is located within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Engineering & Construction Division. You will provide advice, assistance and information on all matters related to assigned CADD design work and GIS Mapping as it relates to projects.
Duties
Duties require personal contact with engineers, project managers, and workers from other organizations, representatives from A-E firms, contractors, other agencies, and field project personnel.
Prepares sketches and drawing, together with instructions for use by others, in preparing detailed drawings for use as plates in design memoranda and general drawings to be included in final contract documents.
Directs the work of other technicians assigned to the Design Project. Provides direction and training to lower grade technicians and reviews completed work.
Assists with technical problems encountered, conducts on-the-job training, and monitors work progress.
Defines needs and works directly with applicable organizational elements to obtain required surveys, borings, hydraulic data, and other information required in accomplishment of required work.
Coordinates with various design elements the preparation of construction plans and specifications for assigned projects.

Specialized Experience:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing and coordinating Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)/ Geographic Information System (GIS) related project work required for engineering and construction.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
