The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a multidisciplinary engineer to perform management, execution, and operations for assigned program(s) within the Division.

Duties

1.Plans, coordinates, and manages all aspects of assigned program(s) through application of professional knowledge and skill in environmental engineering or scientific practices, processes, and techniques. Engineering or scientific projects typically contain two to fix complex features. 2. Responsible for executing assigned program(s), in-house and by contract, to comply with all applicable Federal, state, local environmental laws and policies. Executes short-term goals and priorities to support the management plan utilizing available personnel and resources. 3. Provides advisory services on specific problems, projects, programs, and functions in assigned program area. Responsible for communicating and coordinating assigned program issues with superiors, team members, higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community and other officials, and/or interest groups. 4. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work that enhances the safety of the work environment. Ensures adherence to Federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment. Ensures adherence to security practices.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an institution with an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • The employee is expected to meeting Continuing Acquisition Education requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Telework may be authorized.

  • Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.

  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.

Support requirement verification efforts in support of SVR-1, Delta SVR, and SVR-2. Help ensure the FRBs/RCCAs process is executed in accordance to the JPO FBR/RCCA OI. Support System Safety Lead conducting systems hazards analysis and maintaining compliance to military and industry safety specifications. Assist Reliability Engineering Lead implement and sustain reliability, availability, maintainability, and testability efforts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of professional environmental engineering or scientific principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned program(s). Engineering or scientific knowledge and skill to adapt standard practices, equipment, or technical knowledge for preparing or monitoring the preparation of specifications and designs for the improvement or alteration of existing or the eventual construction of new facilitates in consonance with natural resources and environmental protection and to assess the impacts of the facilities' or weapon system actives on Air Force personnel, public safety, ecology, cultural resources, and the environment. Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, or local laws, AF/DoD regulations, principles, methods, and techniques of environmental engineering or science and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning assigned restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices; health, safety, and security practices as applied to weapon systems acquisitions and/or GOCO industrial plants. Skill to integrate an interdisciplinary team of professionals to include attorneys, public health specialists, public affairs specialists, environmental physical scientists, biological scientists, regulators, program office personnel, other government officials, and community groups to obtain appropriate environmental goals. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, and establish effective working relationships with others.
