Duties
Greet customers in order to determine the access control services required.
Use automated database to complete visitor passes and/or weapons registrations. Maintain accountability log of associated access badges for the installation.
Distribute workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization to assure timely accomplishment of work.
Provide detailed information from automated databases to local security and/or law enforcement agencies when requested.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility at the Secret level using a Tier 3 background investigation.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Certification, within 3 months of employment.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- MISSION ESSENTIAL POSITION: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience screening requests for controlled area access to determine eligibility; providing guidance and/or information on security regulations and procedures; and operating automated systems utilized in the registration process for access to control areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06 or above).
