This position is within the Office of Response and Recovery, Transportation Management Division, Transportation Operations Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will ensure development and execution of short and long-term strategic plans for transportation of resources and personnel, have experience in scheduling and tracking all modes of transportation ; experience with movement control operations and familiarity with government procurement and contracting processes.

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. This position is covered under the Individual Occupational Requirements found at Transportation Specialist Series 2101 (opm.gov). To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Ensuring the development of short- and long-range strategic plans and policy for the day-to-day transportation of assets and people as well as the mass evacuation of people by all modes of transportation; AND Supervising employees and provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work; AND Managing and overseeing commercial contracts for the movement of resources, supplies, and equipment.
