You will serve as a INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SPECIALIST within HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will be responsible for formulating USINDOPACOM position on national security and regional military strategies pertaining to the South Asia Region. You will shape and implement new strategy and new policy based on evolving geo-political world situations. You will provide analytical framework for strategic planning to guide USINDOPACOM and component commands on setting force structure capabilities and programming priorities. You will lead, plan, manage, and facilitate all aspects of required annual, bilateral defense dialogues.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience should demonstrate the following: Leading and conducting working level meetings. knowledge of the inter-agency process. Establishing formal working relationships with senior policy makers from service components. Performing analysis of activities conducted in the South Asia Region. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Applicants must possess Degree: major or equivalent, or a combination of courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in international law and international relations, political science, economics, history, sociology, geography, social or cultural anthropology, law, statistics, or in the humanities; or 12 semester hours in one of the above disciplines and 12 semester hours in statistics/quantitative methods.

OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, in one or more of the social sciences, or in the humanities, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

OR Experience: four years of appropriate experience in one or more of the fields listed above in work associated with international organizations, problems, or other aspects of foreign affairs.
