About the Position: This position is in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Dir of Resource Management, Special Assistant. Camp Pendleton is a large US Navy medical treatment facility in Oceanside, California, part of the United States' Military Health System. Located on Camp Pendleton in Camp Pendleton South, California in San Diego County.

Duties

Receive all visitors and telephone calls for the Department Head and Division Officer. Serve as administrative liaison between Department Head and other staff members within Pastoral Care. Review correspondence prepared throughout the Department and channeled through the appropriate subordinates for either Division Officer or Department Head’s signature/review. Develop and maintain Department Head’s and Division Officer’s calendar of official social engagements. Manage the Command Volunteer Program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) required to report to work or remain at work to support mission operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Assist with tracking internal or external volunteer hours for command reports that would be used at the local, market or national level. Assist or plan, coordinate or execute annual Volunteer Recognition programs to include National Volunteer Week. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
