About the Position: Serves as a Serves as the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region/U.S. Army Military District of Washington (JTF-NCR/USAMDW) Information Technology (IT) Specialist to JTF-NCR/USAMDW and Mission Sub Commands (MSC) Unit Publication Control, Forms Management and Management Information Control Officer. Directs, controls, implements, and executes various higher headquarters directives
Duties
Establish and sustain security groups in active directory or similar directories to control access to information contained in digital files throughout the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region/U.S. Army Military District of Washington.
Work with the IT office on electronic recordkeeping requirements, record management applications, as well as the technology challenges of accessing and maintaining records over time.
Organize digital records and information based on the organization’s lines of business, and develop plans for logical filing structures, information access, and training.
Train staff to achieve Activity information resource goals and objectives.
Coordinate and promote data and records management programs with Activity and higher-echelon management.
Serve as an analyst and advisor to JTF-NCR/USAMDW’s HQ and MSCs on the evaluation of the effectiveness of government programs and operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the employee to perform Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Employee must possess and maintain Security + and Network Computing Environment (CE) certification.
- Position designated as IT-I (AR 25-2) and IAT-II. Required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft to accomplish temporary duty (TDY) 10% of the time.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing data management planning, development, implementation to include log file analysis, system and data backup, security and operating system fixes and file recovery by using information technology (IT) systems such as computers, servers, and routers.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
