National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Identifies and maintains the architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, and processes that support the cybersecurity program.
Manages the organizations Incident Response Process to respond to spillages and various alerts from CYBERCOM, DISA and Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CND-SP).
Develops and implements procedures for Configuration Management (CM) and ensures they are in line with policies and practices for authorizing the use of information systems.
Provides oversight and direction for the development, review, endorsement, and maintenance of the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) program.
Establishes information ownership responsibilities for NDU information systems and networks, ensuring information accountability, access approval, and special handling requirements are established for all users, systems, networks, and data.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- May be required to work weekends and holidays and occasional travel.
- Must obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Must meet DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program certification requirements at the IAM Level III.
- Must file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Form, 5 CFR Part 2634, Subpart I, U.S. Office of Government Ethics (January 2014)
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-13 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as extensive experience related to Program Management, providing guidance and oversight relating to all aspects of Cybersecurity programs, and procurement planning for the acquisition of equipment.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
