Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for handling some of the most significant and complex asset forfeiture cases. Typical work assignments will include:
Performs administrative and management program support duties related to the Asset Forfeiture Programs initiatives and goals.
Analyzes and manages all case status data.
Gathers data from multiple sources.
Initiates entry of asset forfeiture data pertaining to investigations and case assignments in electronic tracking systems.
Serves as liaison between internal and external law enforcement agencies.
Responsible for coordinating and managing the Asset Forfeiture Program reporting and data calls while interfacing with supervisors, management officials and attorneys.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the GS-09 grade level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions as defined below.
At least ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties: examining and processing a variety of legal documents; conducting research, assist in analyzing and evaluating of data in response to inquiries or using a variety of electronic systems to acquire, store information and produce reports; maintaining case files and other sources for information and data required by attorneys or court personnel. Provide technical advice and monitoring of program operations related to asset forfeiture recovery and/or works alongside of attorneys in support of agency initiatives and cases.
OR
Education: a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.) if related; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Or a combination of specialized experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate level education must be in excess of 1 full year. To calculate your percentage of graduate education, first determine the total number of graduate hours that exceed 36 semester hours (or your school's definition of two years of graduate study), then divide the total number of your excess graduate semester hours by 18 (or your school's definition of one year of study). If applying under education, you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
To be eligible for the GS-11 grade level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions as defined below.
You must have ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties: initiating data entry pertaining to investigation and case assignments, ensuring proper case management, ensuring proper asset management by utilizing the Consolidated Asset Tracking System (CATS) or other database platforms, Collects, organizes, synthesizes, analyzes and provides data for case status and filing reports, reviewing and responding to routine and complex inquires and requests from attorneys or associated agencies. Provide technical advice and monitoring on program operations related to asset forfeiture recovery and/or works alongside of attorneys in support of agency initiatives and cases.
OR
Education: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (such as LL.M) if related; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Or a combination of specialized experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Education
