You will serve as a Nurse Practitioner in the Operations Department, Medical Review Authority Division of NVRECRUITNGCMD.
Duties
You will conduct quality reviews of functional input to verify alignment to process requirements.
You will draft correspondence in response to inquiries regarding medical suitability determinations.
You will conduct training on case management procedures to all professional staff to ensure quality care.
You will review medical profiles lab and radiological results using a technical computer database at a medical facility.
You will advise personnel on military physical standards and requirements.
Requirements
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will review medical records (including physical examination, various laboratory tests, and consult information) and evaluate the available data to make a determination of fitness for military service.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizes continuing general and specialty medical advancements, especially as they relate to physical qualifications for military service: 2) Reviews medical waiver requests to determine suitability for service in the military by summarizing relevant medical facts and considerations applicable to waiver decisions; 3) Coordinates, discusses and responds to queries, related to medical waivers, with medical professionals and military leadership; 4) Reviews medical records by interpreting consults, evaluating laboratory results, and other data; and 5) Applies the principles of physical risk classification (taking into account operational environmental characteristics and training rigor specific to military operations) to evaluate applicant's world-wide assignability.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
successfully completed a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time my degree was obtained. (Note - Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools). AND I have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. AND possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
