About the Position: This position is located at Andrews AFB, Maryland.
Duties
Establishes and manages user accounts and determines and maintains user privilege levels.
Performs daily system back-ups and upgrading of hardware and software as directed.
Uses established computer techniques to identify and promptly resolve network-related problems within the organization.
Serves as project officer for the life cycle management of computer systems and software in the Medical Group.
Provides training and assistance and ensures information security and accountability for Medical Group computer equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- May be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.
- This position may include Information Assurance (IA) work as an additional duty. Per DoD 8570.01-M the recipient of this additional duty must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.

Basic Requirements for Computer Assistant, GS-0335-9:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in operation of network systems to ensure proper operation of hardware or software systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in computer science, information systems management, Information Technology, or other fields related to the position to be filled. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
