About the position: This position will be assigned to the USAFA Marketing Flight, Air Force Academy, Colorado.

Duties
Plans, develops, and promotes commercial sponsorship (advertising) programs, both solicited and unsolicited, for the 10th Force Support Squadron special events and programs.
Promotes awareness of sponsorship/advertising opportunities and benefits to the local business community.
Briefs activity managers, flight chiefs, FSS commanders, and AF leadership on commercial sponsorship (advertising) capabilities and guidelines.
Emphasizes defraying event costs while enhancing program capabilities.
Negotiates mutually beneficial sponsorship terms and business agreements and executes all supporting documentation for commercial sponsorship/advertising.
Sells or coordinates the sale of commercial advertising for the 10th Forces Support Squadron media publications.
Develops and coordinates promotional materials for sponsored events with the marketing staff.
Serves as liaison between commercial sponsors.
Serves as the sponsor's event point of contact and coordinates all pre-event set up and logistics.
Writes "after action" reports and briefs commanders accordingly.
Stays current on all aspects of the Air Force and civilian commercial sponsorship and advertising program.
Develops competitive and innovative pricing and rate structure for paid advertising in FSS publications, point of sale venues and collateral materials.
Tracks timely payment and/or proactive follow-up of advertising and commercial billing to ensure fiscal responsibility, proper accountability and credit to FSS Fund and activity accounts.
Ensures the timely coordination of sponsorship/advertising packages with Academy public affairs, legal, and contracting offices as well as the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) and FSS.
Prepares required monthly and annual sponsorship reports for headquarters detailing sponsorship/advertising activities.
Works under the general supervision of the Marketing Director who provides overall objectives and resource limitations on major projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible administrative or professional experience which has provided knowledge of marketing, advertising, event coordination and promotional techniques to plan, prepare, promote and monitor events and programs.
Knowledge of and adept in negotiation techniques.
A diverse knowledge of Service programs, practices and procedures is desirable.
A bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, or related field is desirable.
Applicant must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in the use of computers and skill in word processing and presentation software are required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Requires the ability to read and interpret regulations.
Uncommon tour of duty.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
