About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Services Flight
Engraving Shop/Outdoor Recreation Center.
May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends.
Duties
This position is assigned to the Engraving Shop under the supervision of Supervisory Recreation Specialist.
Responsible for and assists assigned personnel in all areas of engraving.
Responsible for operating the cash register, collecting money, making change and issuing receipts.
At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor.
Operates a variety of equipment related to engraving including computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, air brushes, and power tools.
Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment, and funds assigned.
Provides customer service, answers telephone and assists customers with engraving and work procedures.
Assists customers in placing special orders.
Maintains clean, neat and safe work area.
Performs other related duties and assists facility supervisor as requested.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience with engraving or Corel based design systems highly desired. Must be able to read, write, spell and figure basic math and measurements.
Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public.
Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 50 pounds.
May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends. Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
