This position is located at Yosemite National Park in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division, Branch of Wildland Fire and Aviation. This is a permanent, full-time position. One position is available.

Duties

Provides a variety of administrative support to routine fire management activities. Support activities include budget tracking, timekeeping, travel arrangement, qualifications management, fleet management and records management. Performs a variety of operational, logistical, and financial incident specific support functions including ordering manager, check in, demobilization, dispatch, and finance. Utilizes computer software and programs in support of administrative duties including record keeping, timekeeping, and travel coordination. Helps track, ensure program accountability and coordinates the movement of staff credit card charges to appropriate accounts in collaboration and coordination with park managers and administrative staff. Helps generate internal letters, memoranda and reports as needed. APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Career Seasonal: This is a Career-Seasonal position. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. Selectee is guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule determined upon appointment. Work schedule and periods of non-pay status are contingent upon funding and operational needs. On an annual basis, employee signs a "career-seasonal" agreement with the supervisor which defines the work schedule for that year. You will be placed into non pay status for a total of 4 pay periods from December through January of each year and will be expected to be in pay status from late January through November of each year.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by 11:59 EST when the 'applicant cut-off' is reached (which may be sooner than 07/29/2024). Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: preparing reports using spreadsheet software, making travel arrangements, preparing travel vouchers, preparing correspondence and/or reports, keeping time and attendance records for staff, tracking and filing documents and correspondence, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the office, receiving and routing mail; and/or comparable clerical/administrative tasks. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above or, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the specialized experience) and two years of education above high school (50% of the education) would qualify an applicant for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months/years, hours per week worked and salary to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". No additional credit is given for overtime. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
