This position is located in Yosemite National Park, in the Facilities Division. Open to the first 101 applicants or until 08/24/2023 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Duties

Use computers and appropriate software for data collection, analysis and collating. Prepare reports, forms and tabular material, providing proper spacing, heading and arrangement for ease of understanding and information processing. Serve as division/branch receptionist; take, record and distribute mail, telephone, radio and e-mail messages; make arrangements for division staff and other meetings. Provide accurate and reliable information about the park to visitors and other employees. Serve as payroll Timekeeper for Division/Branch; May input payroll records (T&A) into database. Coordinate procurement and account information with clerical and administrative staff throughout the park. Provide budgetary, timekeeping, travel management, meeting coordination, file organization and maintenance, correspondence preparation and purchasing and procurement support. Preparing travel authorizations, requests and vouchers for the Division/Branch. Write justifications, purchase and reconcile financial tracking procedures. purchases using Government Purchase Cards within federal procurement regulations. Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. Working Conditions: The work is generally performed in an office setting. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/24/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs administrative duties, and a typing speed of at least 40wpm is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. You must upload a certificate or note your typing speed in your resume to qualify. - AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience may include: assisting in the preparation of budgets; using various word processing and spreadsheet software; assisting with procurement of services and supplies; assisting with the preparation/reviewing of travel vouchers; and serving as a timekeeper using an automated system. No substitution for education at this grade level. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience may include: providing a wide variety of administrative support services to enable efficient operation of a business or program office; tracking and reconciling fiscal data for programmed accounts versus actual expenditures; preparing and following up on purchase orders and contracts; administering payroll and workers compensation; preparing human resource employment paperwork and orienting new employees. No substitution for education at this grade level.. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal civilian employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. CTAP/ICTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies. Federal employees seeking CTAP/ICTAP eligibility must submit proof that they meet the requirements of 5 CFR 330.605(2) for CTAP and 5 CFR 330.704 for ICTAP. This includes a copy of the agency notice, a copy of their most recent Performance Rating, and a copy of their most recent SF-50 noting current position, grade level, and duty location.
