This position is located in the Division of Administration of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of planning, design, construction, installation, operation, preventive maintenance, and repair activities in regard to all mechanical and electrical equipment supporting data centers. Duties

Responsible for planning and organizing projects, internal resources and external vendors/service providers; perform on a strategic and transformational level with other management of the department. Serves as Oversight Manager on assigned contracts and maintains accurate and complete records, files, deliverables, and performance documentations for projects, financial statements, contractor personnel, and daily operations. Responsible for developing administrative and policy requirements, relying on engineering expertise for professional design, construction, maintenance and operations as well as a broad understanding  IT systems. Participates in Corporation and DIT analysis meetings, provides recommendations, graphic reports, and presentations addressing audiences internal and external to the FDIC. Functions as a team leader during contract acquisitions. Plans, develops, and establishes formal and informal procurement packages to include statements of work, cost estimates, design specifications, schedules, phasing plans, acquisition plans and vendor evaluation criteria. Serves as principal contracting advisor and subject matter expert representing the Corporation in meetings and discussions with FDIC technical personnel, clients, vendors, and personnel from other Federal agencies.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience applying project management principles in order to support maintenance and improvement projects; using facility maintenance practices and procedures including planning and maintenance of electrical equipment and facility services such as electrical, equipment, office moves and/or deliveries. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
