This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (l&A), Cyber Intelligence Center.
Conducts strategic all-source analysis consistent with Intelligence Community Directive 203 analytic tradecraft standards, while demonstrating knowledge of the intelligence cycle and the role of analysis and production to close intelligence gaps, produce actionable judgments and opportunity analysis, and identify reliable indicators of future activity.
Duties
Conceptualizes and drafts all-source finished intelligence products to support policies and programs that enhance defense, mitigation, and resiliency against national security threats. Prepares and gives clear and concise briefs to a spectrum of customers tailored to their needs and level of technical knowledge.
Monitors and evaluates information to identify trends and potential threats and cyber threats to the Homeland.
Develops ways to resolve complex issues or cope with rapidly emerging incidents and integrates lessons learned in the organization's practices and procedures for analysis and production.
Builds knowledge of customer needs and tailors key intelligence questions and analytic efforts and production to best meet those needs.
Requirements
- Must be able to hold a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
- Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-11, candidate must have at least one year of specialized experience, that has equipped them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. This includes demonstrated skills adeptly: 1) conducting unclassified and classified strategic all-source analysis on national security issues, 2) engaging and briefing a spectrum of customers, and 3) drafting strategic analytic products that are consistent with Intelligence Community Directive 203 analytic tradecraft standards. To qualify for the GS-12, candidate must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level, that has equipped then with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. In addition, they should have demonstrated skills adeptly: 1) Conducting unclassified and classified all-source analysis on national security issues to inform the customer set and guide defense, mitigation, and resiliency efforts. To qualify for the GS-13, candidate must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level, that has equipped then with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. In addition, they should have demonstrated skills adeptly promoting the understanding of threats through intelligence analysis, driving collection of information and intelligence pertinent to homeland security, sharing the information necessary for action, and managing intelligence for the Homeland Security Enterprise.
