Duties
Serves as a Chief for one of the test divisions of the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC)
Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the activities of 10-35 professional and non- professional scientific, engineering, and supporting personnel engaged in testing, analyses, and integration.
Serves as the principle ATC scientific investigator and technical advisor in the assigned areas testing and technology; or delegates the role to a qualified subordinate.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and capabilities of employees. Evaluates performance of work and administrative matters.
Establishes policies and procedures with the team and implements directive from high echelon, personnel management, technical management, resource management, research and consultation, and administrative management.
Serves as advisor and consultant to other ATC personnel and to other government agencies and civilian contractors on related instrumentation.
Prepares and/or reviews military handbooks, standards, Test Operating Procedures (TOPS), Standing Operating Procedures (SOP's), and similar publications which pertain to test methods, procedures, instrumentation, data analysis, and other criteria.
Ensures that the plan is consistent with or embodies the criteria established through the incumbent's investigations and findings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
