You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the Security Division of NAVBASE SAN DIEGO SEC DET.
Duties
You will Issue visitor and vehicle entrance passes to authorized persons as directed by rules, regulations, and guidelines.
You will conduct local files checks to determine the existence or absence of unfavorable information.
You will prepare correspondence, forms, reports, requisitions, or statistical data to include attaching required supplemental material.
You will meet with applicants applying for security clearances to ensure all information is detailed and accurate.
You will use computer equipment and specialized, web-based law enforcement computer programs to establish, update, query, or print individual or vehicle registration information.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using office automation software (e.g., word processing, database, spread sheet programs) to draft documents in accordance with outlined regulations and procedures; 2) Using office equipment (e.g., personal computer, fax machine, or scanner) to perform a variety of administrative tasks; 3) Interpreting policy to ensure uniform application of regulations and processes; and 4) Ordering office supplies.
