THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1277000 and is part of the KS 35th Division, National Guard.
Duties
As a SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11, you will initiate and implement policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Acts as resident expert on all SCI security matters. Function as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance. Duties require incumbent to maintain currency on a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction. Serve as the SCI Control Officer responsible for establishing, managing, and controlling all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the Unit's mission. Ensure SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by higher headquarters. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

Requirements
- KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI within one year of appointment.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position

- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

- If applicant is a current KSARNG onboard indefinite or permanent employee, applicant will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted into this position

Qualifications
Military Grades: E4 through E9, WO1 through WO3 or O1 through O3
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and provide detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, equivalent to 1 year at the next lower level, in administering server-based networked systems, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and application monitoring required to provision, sustain, operate and integrate cyber networked systems and applications in garrison and at deployed locations. Core competencies include: server operating systems, database administration, web technologies, systems-related project management and supervising cyber systems. Have expanded experiences and working knowledge on how to perform Special Security Representative duties and responsibilities in a Special Security Office. Experienced in completing and managing the day-to-day operational duties within the Special Security Office in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures. Experienced in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security.
