This Support Services Supervisor (Branch Chief) position is located within the Facilities and Operations Branch (FOB), Division of Administrative Services (DAS), Office of Information and Resource Management (OIRM). The incumbent will manage the activities of the Workplace Innovation Section and Property Management Section which include facilities management, space planning, and oversight of the acquisition, use, maintenance, control, protection, and disposition of real and personal property.
Duties
As a Support Services Supervisor (Branch Chief), you will perform the following duties:
Work with staff and colleagues to establish annual and multi-year work plans and schedules to ensure implementation of division goals and objectives.
Manage, lead, and coordinate a wide variety of functions - including space planning, facilities management, building services, procurement, property management, and related processes and systems. These functions impact the entire Foundation as well as its
various external constituencies.
Manage and grow human resources and organizational assets in the Branch.
Review branch plans and processes to identify improvements, directs actions to enhance program effectiveness, and adjusts operations as necessary to ensure that performance of program responsibilities is relevant to the National Science Foundation (NSF) mission, address customer needs and interests, and are properly integrated and aligned with the goals and objectives of the division and OIRM.
Clearly articulate goals and objectives to staff, set performance targets and accountability measures, and hold staff accountable for progress in meeting targets through regular reviews and evaluation.
Provide advice to top-level management on program and policy issues in all areas wider than the incumbent's jurisdiction.
Develop long-range objectives and plans related to space planning, facilities management, building services, and property management, and present briefings and recommendations concerning these objectives and plans to top-level Foundation management officials (e.g., the Director, Assistant Directors, and staff Office Directors).
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service leading a team and providing management and coordination of logistical requirements associated with space, facilities, and personal property management. Examples of specialized experience include collecting and analyzing data, evaluating program activities, interpreting procurement and budget policies, understanding of basic contract administration, and developing project plans for acquisition of resources and services related to branch operations.
Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
