You will serve as a PRODUCTION DIVISION DIRECTOR in the Public Works Department (PWD) Washington, located at the Washington Navy Yard.

Duties

You will consult with the Public Works Office (PWO) on utility distribution systems to confirm operations. You will develop performance standards for use in assigned utility plants or systems maintenance performance assessment programs. You will discuss issues with personnel to resolve production problems impeding workflow. You will collaborate with engineering teams to set goals, establish priorities, and implement lessons learned and process improvement. You will liaise with customers to resolve problems.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to be on duty during emergency periods such as during hurricanes and natural disasters.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervising a diverse team of personnel providing facilities maintenance work and services. 2) Supporting the Commands Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program; 3) Providing leadership and to work with management, subordinate shop personnel, Supported Command representatives and others to ensure projects are accurately planned, understood and completed on time and within estimates; 4) Applying general knowledge of engineering concepts, regulations, and principles and practices necessary to perform the full range of projects concerned with minor maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial facilities 5) Applying general knowledge to ensure delivery of utility and transportation services to customers 6) Developing and submitting an annual budget.
