Duties
Maintain direct communication with contracting office personnel for appropriate actions for new and existing contracts.
Manage the space utilization plan within the Medical Treatment Facility in support of the Master Plan.
Applies Joint Commission (TJC) standards, National Fire Safety Code Standards, National Electric Code standards, and various other regulatory agency standards to the maintenance of facilities.
Prepare numerous types of correspondence relating to contract modifications, scope of work specifications, purchase requests, change orders, customer information and delivery orders.
Provide periodic progress reports on scope of assignments, variety of projects, and coordination requirements.
Identify requirements, resources, and priorities to address equipment, acquisition plans, accreditation standards, safety codes and standards.
Determine funding requirements for facility operation and maintenance.
Evaluate present use patterns of buildings, equipment and other facilities, and projecting future requirements in terms of expanding or changing organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with managing a facility maintenance program for a medical clinic or hospital; assisting with the budget planning for facility work such as estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects; and inputting or tracking work order requests in an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
