We expect to fill 2 vacancies at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.
Duties
Operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, cars and SUVs) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites.
Vacuum/clean rugs using heavy vacuum cleaner. Adjust, clean and change brushes, rollers, buffers, and other vacuum attachments.
Research, order and purchase to keep a ready stock available of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and cleaning supplies, according to green purchasing requirements.
Wash and/or disinfect surfaces such as windows, windowsills, counters, door handles, and other surfaces and high touch-point areas.
Scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors using industrial high- powered scrubbers and buffers. Wash walls using power wall washing machine and/or by hand.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination.

- This position requires working on weekends, some nights, and some holidays. This position can require long hours (up to 16 hours per shift), varying shifts, and on-call status.
- An applicant appointed to this position must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license while employed in this position.
- May require a one year probationary period.
Qualifications
An appointment to this position is restricted by law (5 U.S.C. 3310) to Veterans who are preference eligible as long as such applicants are available. Non-preference eligibles may not be selected until all available qualified preference eligible veterans who apply to this announcement have been considered.
Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision as indicated by performing custodial duties to include cleaning floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and operating light duty motor vehicles such as pick-up trucks.

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that you possess the skill level that has equipped you with the particular job elements to successfully perform the duties of Custodial Worker (MVO) without more than normal supervision.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands:
Moderately heavy physical effort is required when using ladders and scaffolds to clean walls, ceilings, windows, ceiling fixtures, operating power equipment, trash removal, and occasionally lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to vibrations from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors.
