Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately late-March to mid-November, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Duties
This position is located in the Division of Maintenance and is concerned with the operation and maintenance of buildings in Acadia National Park.
Major Duties:
The primary focus of this position is custodial services, including cleaning sinks, toilets, sweeping and mopping floors, and ensuring that there are adequate supplies of soap, towels, and toilet paper for a public restroom along the park loop roads, at picnic areas and within the park campgrounds. Makes minor building repairs or alterations such as replacing or repairing doors and windows, replacing window sash, repairing plaster and drywall, repairing steps, walks and ramps, replace siding and shingles, and repairing masonry. Performs interior and exterior painting. Performs minor electrical repairs. Performs minor plumbing repairs. Performs grounds maintenance. Functions as helper to maintenance personnel. Operates vehicle up to 15,000 GVW.

Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine serves as the duty station. Acadia National Park is located in Bar Harbor, Maine. It is 50 miles southeast of Bangor, Maine, and 240 miles northeast of Boston, Massachusetts. Acadia National Park protects a landscape of rare scenic beauty. Acadia's mountains are the highest rocky headlands on the Atlantic shore of the United States, and the vistas from these mountaintops encompass forested woodlands, shimmering lakes, quiet marshes, bold rocky shores, and coastal islands. The ocean strongly influences the park's character. Visitation exceeds two million visitors annually, with the highest visitation occurring in July and August.

Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. General landscaping and grounds maintenance such as cutting grass with push/riding mowers, weed eaters, and pruners; basic carpentry, simple electrical installations or repairs, basic plumbing work, and painting interior and exterior surfaces.

Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
