Duties

Serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) in an Army Reserve Brigade or equivalent sized unit. Provide guidance and on military personnel management to subordinate elements within the organization. Coordinate and execute the unit’s military personnel management activities. Provide training and briefings on current and proposed policies for staff within the headquarters and subordinate elements. Establish criteria to monitor and evaluate program efficiency and effectiveness ensuring compliance with regulatory guidance. Develop innovative variations of existing approaches and methods to resolve complex situations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting military regulations, policies, principles, and procedures to gather and analyze facts, identify problems and report findings on organizational programs; providing administrative guidance on unit requirements; consolidation of reports; reviewing training reports to identify training needs and/or changes needed; utilizing automated systems supporting various military programs.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
