You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) for the NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND at NROTC COLLEGE STA.

Duties

You will manage applicant data using software programs (e.g., Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar software application). You will collaborate with customers to identify and obtain missing personnel documents. You will revise information from personnel records or files to maintain accuracy. You will prepare correspondence based on research of human resources regulations, guides, and precedents.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:sector 1) Maintaining filing systems of various records; 2) Inputting data into an automated data processing and entry systems ; 3) Reviewing documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines; 4) Utilizing office automation equipment and software( such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel) in order to prepare a variety of forms and correspondences.
