About the Position: Incumbent is responsible for operational administration and personnel actions
affecting the financial entitlements and accessioning for the Directorate's Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP), and Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Delay Program participants. Incumbent is responsible for independently processing all active duty training (ADT) actions, including making necessary contacts, and providing authoritative information.
Duties
Initiates request for orders and forwards to the paying/approving/order issuing authority.
Exercises internal control responsibility with respect to entitlements, program entry, and funded allocation ceilings.
Reviews receipts and requests for reimbursement pertaining to additional educational equipment, health insurance and expenses that are not covered under contract.
Accomplishes clerical, statistical and data entry tasks in support for the administrative and technical work of the office using an automated data processing (ADP) system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret T3 clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required occasionally.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing automated systems to input and retrieve data for studies, projects and reports; 2) providing guidance on personnel matters pertaining to an organization's administrative functions; and 3) preparing administrative documents such as active-duty training (ADT) actions, including making necessary contacts, and providing authoritative information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
