This vacancy is for an Administrative Specialist in the National Telecommunications and Information Administration within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

As an Administrative Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Serves as the Timekeeper. Schedules meetings and manages conference rooms as directed. Provides logistical support to OSM meetings by assisting in the planning, creation of agendas, human resources, and posting and logging documents on OSM archive and distribution portals. Orders supplies and manages a bankcard. Prepares travel requests and makes reservations using the E2 Solutions Travel System. Assists senior staff members by providing direct program operational support in a variety of areas. Supports the supervisor in developing, writing, and coordinating the OSM security requirement procedures with the NTIA Security Contact and Commerce Security Office. Receives, processes, and maintains agency visitor authorization requests and coordinates closely with the Commerce Office of Security. Prepares forms and correspondence to produce letters, memos, reports, and other documents and applying knowledge of correspondence procedures and guidelines. Prepares, distributes, and tracks the progress of documents and action items received from other NTIA offices and other Federal agencies. Assist the Records Manager and Quality Control Coordinator to ensure completeness of the electronic records, the National Archive Records Administration (NARA) Records Management Program, and initiatives. Maintains, and monitors internally developed reporting systems and databases. Manages and approves system access requests for Inter-department Radio Advisory Committee (IRAC) network access. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Specialist GS-0301-9 FPL 11 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience. Qualifications

Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal Service. Experience for this position includes: - Planning, reviewing, and coordinating administrative tasks; - Performing records management activities; and, - Applying established methods and techniques to solve administrative problems. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination of education and experience
