This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Medicaid Benefits and Health Programs Group. As a Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-13, you will serve as Policy Analyst to the Division of Pharmacy (DP) in the Medicaid Benefits and Health Services Group (MBHPG).

Duties

Lead and/or conduct data analyses and special studies related to Medicaid prescription drug programs, and related operational issues. Prepare a variety of written products, including briefing documents, reports, and issue papers. Conduct user Acceptance Testing of the Medicaid Drug Program system to include creating test case scenarios and executing test case scenarios all contractor changes. Develop operational and system solutions to support system enhancements and improvements, including maintenance and troubleshooting operational inquiries. Collaborate with stakeholders and contractors as a subject matter expert (SME), providing business and technical guidance on all inquiries pertaining to the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP).

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: . Conducting analyses using healthcare related data to evaluate Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and/or similar national health care program; AND Advising on data collection, data quality, and data reporting, including providing technical assistance to states and other stakeholders on submitting and using Medicaid and CHIP data, or an equivalent national level program; AND Experience drafting various communication documents to collect, review, evaluate, and report on data for Medicaid and CHIP, or an equivalent national program. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
