As a Concessions Management Specialist, you will lead commercial services planning and management for Acadia National Park by evaluating concession needs of visitors, developing contracts with concessionaires, and monitoring compliance with contract terms and a variety of regulations.
Duties
Develop and manage competitive and non-competitive commercial services opportunities within the Park
Prepare prospectuses documents for new contracts and fact sheets for renewal of existing contracts
Advise the Superintendent, Chief of Administration, and other management staff on commercial services program operations, direction, and sensitive program management issues
Continually monitor concession contracts for compliance with contract obligations, regulations, and policies, including public health, accessibility, environmental, safety, and integrated pest management
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.

Qualifications
In order to be qualified at the GS-11, you must possess one of the following:
A. One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service, analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify economic, financial, or customer satisfaction trends; responding to customer questions or complaints about programs or services; monitoring commercial service operations contracts to ensure compliance with agreement terms and conditions - OR -
B. Three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in business, finance, procurement, public administration, or another closely related field which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or possess an LLM. - OR -
C. A combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate level education as described in B that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. (Please note: only graduate education in excess of the first two years - generally 36 semester hours - may be used in this calculation.)
In order to be qualified at the GS-12, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, analyzing a variety of financial and economic data to make rate determinations or other business decisions related to commercial services operations; evaluating customer feedback or other data to identify potential changes to commercial services operations at a location; formally evaluating commercial service operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions; and developing sections of commercial services/concessions operating plans.
For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
