This position is located at Departmental Offices,International Affairs - Investment Security. This office fulfills Treasury's statutory responsibilities as chair of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which has the authority to review the national security effects of foreign acquisitions of U.S. businesses. This position serves as a developmental trainee policy analyst and advisor.

Duties

As a Policy Analyst, you will: Work with and assist senior-level analysts in the coordination of the interagency processes and analysis of transactions to promote the efficiency and to achieve mission-oriented programs and organizational objectives Conduct analysis to make recommendations in certain cases concerning: the authority of CFIUS to review the transaction, the national security risks posed by the transaction, or the options available to mitigate national security risks posed by the transaction. In a developmental capacity, participate in engaging with foreign partners and allies to support investment review regimes and facilitate coordinated action with respect to trends in investments and technology developments that could pose risks to the national security of the United States and allied and partner countries. Provide operational technical and administrative support to critical projects, programs, and policies within the organization. Track the workflow of policy products developed by the office and facilitate the delivery of briefing memoranda and policy products to senior officials in the Office; provide updates to online systems for clearing memoranda.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-07 is one year (52) weeks of experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: -Analyzing problems to identify significant factors; AND -Planning and organizing work; AND -Communicating orally and in writing. -OR- EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: One full year of graduate level education in a related field or Superior Academic Achievement based on a bachelors degree that is demonstrated through: class standing (upper 1/3 of class) OR grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major) OR Election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society. -OR- COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify with a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then, your education is calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. The two percentages are added together. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé.

Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
