The primary purpose of this position, INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, NH-2010-03 is to serve as an Inventory Management team lead and planner responsible for cradle to grave supply chain management and support to worldwide customers for an assigned complex/critical group of contract, inter-service, organic and dual repaired items and sub-components.
Duties
Serve as project lead/manager, conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, resource allocation and efficiency, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, and resource allocation.
Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Participate in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.
Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Serve as focal point in the support of supply and logistics systems processes and procedures, organize and provide specialized functional supply expertise towards the activities of the organization.

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as: assisted with or lead a project conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, resource allocation and efficiency, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, and resource allocation; independently plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet the customer needs; actively participate in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and perform special assignments.. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
