This is not a remote position. The selectee will need to report to the physical worksite, on a regular and recurring weekly basis. You may have the option to telework in accordance with the DOI Telework policy and with supervisor approval.

Seattle, WA.: $49,400 (GS-6,Step 01) to $71,366 (GS-7, Step 10)
NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
Duties
As an Administrative Operations Assistant within the Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC), some of your specific duties will include:
Qualifications
For GS-06:
Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-6 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service.
Example of GS-5 level work:
Receiving visitors.
Answering and directing phone calls.
Preparing, processing and tracking requests for office supplies, equipment and services.
Maintaining inventory of office supplies.
Maintaining office records.
Utilizing financial and budgetary systems to enter, review and adjust financial data.
Developing administrative reports related to budget, payroll, travel, or procurement.
For GS-07:
Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-7 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service.
Examples of GS-6 level work:
Preparing, processing and tracking requests for office supplies, equipment and services.
Maintaining inventory of office supplies.
Utilizing financial and budgetary systems to enter, review and adjust financial data.
Developing administrative reports related to budget, payroll, travel, or procurement.
Identifying account discrepancies related to employee payroll and travel expenses and process adjusting entries in an automated system.
Preparing motor vehicle reports for managers using spreadsheet, workbook, pivot tables or equivalent.
Planing itineraries, making foreign and domestic travel arrangements, and preparing travel vouchers in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.

Education

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
