This position is located with the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Inspector General (OIG), which has statutory oversight responsibility covering the Department, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), and the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC). The incumbent serves as an inspector within the Office of Inspections (ISP) who independently conducts segments of inspections, reviews, evaluations, or compliance follow-up reviews.
Duties
The incumbent serves as an inspector who independently conducts segments of inspections, reviews, evaluations, or compliance follow-up reviews. The incumbent also serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ISP. All work is conducted in accordance with the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's (CIGIE) Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation and follows ISP operating directives and policies.
Requirements

- Overtime may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements, as a condition of employment. Approved overtime hours will be compensated with overtime pay or compensatory time.
- The incumbent may be required to carry a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) cellular device.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.
Time-in-grade documentation: If you are applying for a higher grade and your SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you meet the 1-year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements (examples of appropriate SF-50s include Promotions, Within-grade Grade/Range Increases, and SF-50s with an effective date more than one year old).
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in using evaluation and analysis methodology to conduct investigations.
Experience in preparing clear, accurate, concise, logical, and coherent reports that portray the facts, emphasize the significant details, and substantiate all recommendations made.
Experience in making oral and written presentations, selling ideas, negotiating points of view and resolving conflicts.
Experience in coordinating the work of others.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
