About the Position: The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905 which is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia & Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Duties

Establish working relationships with communication stakeholders such as media personnel, local and state elected leadership, internal and external agencies, and citizen organizations. Execute an Army installation public information program with a focus on informing and/or obtaining feedback from internal and external audiences concerning various programs, policies, services and regulations. Use communication methods and techniques to disseminate informational material to the general public or specialized target groups. Create written and visual information materials designed to reach various audiences through multiple channels including the news media, social media, radio, television, newspaper, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work on an unscheduled/on-call basis.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Affairs, Public Relations, Marketing, etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing and disseminating communication materials to the public or specialized target groups; designing, planning, and advising on the communication program of an agency, or organization within an agency; and developing and maintaining relationships with external news media representatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Affairs, Marketing. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
