This position is located in the Competition and Infrastructure Policy Division (CIPD), Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Duties
The incumbent of this position serves as an expert authority on next generation wireless communications technologies and applications. The incumbent is required to have an in-depth knowledge of wireless telecommunications technologies, network infrastructure and RF engineering, in order to provide guidance, direction, and development of policy regarding coverage mapping, technology deployments, spectrum management, broadband and competition policy, and infrastructure development.

Specialized Experience Requirements
GS-14
In order to be deemed as qualified, applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience includes:
1) Experience drafting rulemaking documents, memoranda, and other documents of a technical nature associated with wireless or mobile services.2) Experience evaluating, providing engineering analysis and advice, and coordinating the preparation of technical engineering documents to ensure technical accuracy.3) Experience analyzing broadband coverage data and on-the-ground test results of wireless coverage (e.g., drive-testing, speed test results from apps).4) Experience conferring and briefing key government and private officials on a variety of complex technical issues relating to new technologies.
GS-15
In order to be deemed as qualified, applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience includes:
1) Experience drafting rulemaking documents, memoranda, and other documents of a technical nature associated with mobile and wireless services.2) Experience evaluating, providing engineering analysis and advice, and coordinating the preparation of technical engineering documents to ensure technical accuracy.3) Experience analyzing broadband coverage data and on-the-ground test results of wireless coverage (e.g., drive-testing, speed test results from apps).4) Experience conferring and briefing key government and private officials on a variety of complex technical issues relating to new technologies.5) Experience providing expert technical engineering analyses and advice to managers and other staff in support of rule making activities and special projects including the implementation and compliance of the Broadband DATA Act.6) Experience preparing engineering studies and designing complex engineering models.
