You will serve as a Fabric Worker Leader in the Production Resources Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will review assigned job orders, plans and specifications, lays out work and worker assignments. You will take the lead in laying out work for the group. You will provide on-the-job training for new employees. You will keep minor work records, records of materials purchased and prepares reports requested by higher supervision. You will lay out, fabricate, repair and install awnings, canopies and protective coverings.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination. You must be able to distinguish between colors and shades of colors.
  • You must be willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.
  • You must be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
