You will serve as a FABRIC WORKER SUPERVISOR in the Coating & Services Shop Code 970, Production Resources Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will review assigned job orders, plans, sketches, and specifications. You will coordinate availability of any special tools, equipment, materials and assist trade help required with Shop Planners. You will instruct workers on proper work methods, use and care of tools and equipment and safe work practices. You will plan use of subordinate workers’ equipment, facilities, or materials. You will establish deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. You will coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. You will assign work to individuals and provide technical direction in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. You will investigate work related problems to identify and resolve deficiencies. You will carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You may be required to complete and maintain nuclear qualifications if assigned to perform nuclear work.
  • Work is performed indoors, outdoors, aboard ships and under conditions involving dust, dirt, vibrations, loud noises, poor illumination, poor ventilation, fumes, rain, unpleasant odors, irritants (fiberglass, synthetic rubber compounds, epoxy).
