This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Capital Markets and Accounting Policy Branch, Accounting Policy and Exam Support Branch, Accounting Policy Section (APS) in the Headquarters Office in Washington, DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and is responsible for technical and administrative tasks, in addition to assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse range of tasks, projects, and programs in support of the APS.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-11: Applicants may qualify at the CG-11 level by one of the following: 1. Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support in researching, compiling, and analyzing information relating to financial industry issues; - OR - 2. Education: Applicants must possess Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related; - OR - 3. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. CG-12: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience providing administrative support related to the financial industry for projects or a workload for an organization, and tracking budget activities or projects to completion with strict deadlines.  Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
