Incumbent is responsible for the management and primary supervision of the inpatient pharmacy clinical services for the Lawton Indian Hospital. This position is supervised by the Chief Pharmacist for the Lawton Service.

Duties

Provides technical and administrative supervision for the inpatient pharmacy clinical services Implements Performance Improvement and Quality Control programs Carries out the inpatient pharmacy functions of drug selection, drug interaction review, and monitoring for appropriateness of treatment Identify developmental and training needs of employees Collaborates with the pharmacy leadership staff to strengthen formal educational programs Functions as Acting Pharmacy Director in his/her absence. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure: All applicants must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Applicants also must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Provides supervisory inpatient pharmacy services and carries out the pharmacy inpatient functions of drug selection, compounding and dispensing as prescribed, including IV and chemotherapy drugs; takes steps to prevent medication errors and provides quality assurance and performance improvement; ensures compliance with USP sterile compounding hazardous drug preparation and Joint Commission standards. Supervisory Abilities:This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
