THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (MI 127th AMXS), Position Description Number NGD2284P01 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This is a Dual-bid announcement with AGR # 24-075. Use this link to apply (AGR POSITION URL: https://intelshare.intelink.gov/sites/ngbhr/careers/SitePages/State-Unit%20Vacancies.aspx ) This position works within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron or Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop or Communications/Navigation/ECM, Guidance and Control, ECM Pod/Test Station shop that supports aircraft. This is an Air National Guard dual status technician position that requires military membership, compatible military skill assignment and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The supervisor in this career field must also possess the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. 1. Planning: Serves as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Supervises employees involved in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. 2. Work Direction: Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes; implements corrective actions, within authority, to resolve work problems. 3. Administration: Supports and explains management programs to subordinates. Plans and establishes overall leave schedule. 4. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. 5. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs additional duties such as accident/mishap response, various shift supervision, special project management, heavy equipment operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies, as required.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E7 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Months Required: 36 Experience or training demonstrating the ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, navigation, and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops. Applies comprehensive knowledge of all major units of the complete multisystem, i.e., how they function independently, how they are interfaced in the integrated subsystems, and how the subsystems interact to achieve operating specifications. Able to determine proper sequence of operations and start point in sequential operations in order to pinpoint areas of malfunction. Extensive practical knowledge of the theories and practices of electromagnetic propagation, electronic circuits, computer theory, hydraulic or pneumatic control and power systems, and many other areas covering a wide range of system applications. Broad knowledge of the interactions among a number of closely integrated complex systems. Knowledge of mathematics, including trigonometry, to calculate power relation ships, signal phasing, etc. Ability to interpret drawings for multisystem complexes such as the complete electronics package for an aircraft including numerous interconnections of signal paths both between and within individual subsystems of the multisystem complex. Ability to isolate malfunctions of complete multiple integrated systems consisting of closely interrelated fire control, bombing-navigation, flight control, countermeasures or similar systems and to determine the methods of repair where extremely complex relationships exist among numerous interconnected units and control circuits not only within the individual control systems but between them as well, requiring complete knowledge of all electronic, mechanical, and or optical systems and units. Performs on-equipment or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft, and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. WS (All Grade Levels) - In addition to the craftsman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
