This position is located in the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS), Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Duties
The incumbent coordinates all administrative operations within the Management Office and is specifically responsible for the integration, synchronization, and executions of a variety of staff actions across the organization.
Reviews and analyzes existing policies and procedures for propriety and adequacy in meeting organizational needs. Keeps abreast of new policies, procedures, regulations, directives, etc.
Provides procedural guidance to executive and professional staff to ensure work processes meet the daily work demands and requirements.
Assists in identifying current and forecasted office manpower requirements based on organizational workload, existing mission, and future missions.
Provides oversight, guidance, and assistance on all aspects of personnel travel within the automated Defense Travel System (DTS). Maintains inventory and initiates purchase order requests for administrative supplies.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-07 for GS-09 and GS-09 for GS-11 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience must be documented in your resume.
Specialized Experience is defined as:
GS-09 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience coordinating, monitoring, managing, and advising on the administrative and human resource functions and activities for an organization.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience coordinating, monitoring, managing, and advising on the administrative and human resource functions and activities; providing guidance to senior leadership and staff; identifying current and forecasted office manpower requirements; and conducting comprehensive studies to determine new methods, procedures, equipment, and or technology to enhance the administrative operations.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
For the GS-09: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent graduate degree may besubstituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.

For the GS-11: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
