Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Office of Communications, Digital Strategy Branch.
At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Serves as the point of contact on web page development and design.
Meets and coordinates with program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Public Affairs Officers to recommend and discuss planned web development strategies.
Performs coding via HTML and CSS to create web pages and documents into final web products for posting.
Reviews materials provided by program content providers to be posted to the public and internal websites, ensuring provided materials are in acceptably used content types and meet Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements.
Provides quality control on all materials to be posted to the public web site by proofreading, ensuring consistency of formatting and style throughout the content.
The BOEM has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information
GS-12: ($99,200 - $128,956) per annum.
First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Experience Requirements and the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
(1) Experience Requirements:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
(2) Specialized Experience Requirement:
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the Gs-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
Experience in website design, layout, and typography
Experience in the use of web-design software such as Drupal Content Management System and SharePoint Communications site.
Experience in using HTML, DHTML, and CSS for structuring and styling web pages.
Must meet all.
