In this position you will serve as a District Asset Forfeiture Coordinator responsible for managing all asset forfeiture activities within the assigned district including coordinating all phases of the asset forfeiture process including pre-seizure planning, custody, and disposition. This position is located in the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the Southern District of New York / New York, NY.

Duties

As a District Asset Forfeiture Coordinator at the GS-0301-12/13 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Managing a complex portfolio of assets from pre-seizure planning through disposition. Certifying and authorizing transactions in automated financial systems. Evaluating the effectiveness of the district's asset forfeiture program in meeting USMS and district goals and objectives. Liaising between the district and various stakeholders to address and advise on asset forfeiture matters. Overseeing contractors' management and control of assets. Assigning work and coordinating tasks for government and non-government personnel supporting the asset forfeiture program. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probation period.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing technical advice and assistance to property management specialists on the management and disposition of seized assets; Supporting peer to peer audits to ensure overall audit readiness; Advising team leads on the status of assigned program activities and routine technical matters; Implementing new or improved operational methods and practices; AND Reviewing the work of contract personnel to ensure performance measures are met. To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing technical advice and assistance to program managers on the management and disposition of seized assets; Supporting third-party audits to ensure overall audit compliance; Advising program managers on the status of all program activities complex or controversial technical matters; Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of operational methods and practices; AND Reviewing the work of contract personnel to ensure performance measures are met.
